An Eggcellent Skinny Recipe this Easter…

Ahhhhhhh, one of our favourite weekends of the year is HERE! A time when calorie counting goes out the window and it’s totally acceptable in our book to eat choc from mornin’ til night…

We’ve been busy getting our bake on at Skinny HQ – and we want to share our Easter Brownies with a Skinny Twist with you lovely lot!

These babies are definitely a *little* bit naughty on the naughty side, but if you can’t treat yo’self at Easter to an extra cheeky dessert then when can you, eh?

So here’s our cheeky recipe for our Easy Easter Brownies: Skinny Style!

Step 1

Heat the oven to 180C. Line a 20cm square cake tin with baking foil. Melt together the butter, brown sugar, chocolate and golden syrup gently on a low heat until it is silku smooth. Then remove the pan from the heat.

Step 2

Whisk together the eggs and caster sugar in a bowl until lusciously light and fluffy – this will take a few minutes and is worth doing good and proper! Add the vanilla extract, sift over the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder and add the melted choc to the bowl. Mix together and scoop half of the mixture into the tin. 

Step 3

Take your slices and chunks of your fave Skinny bars and pop them into the tin, spacing them out into the brownie mix. Then pour the rest of the brownie mixture over the top. Bake for 30 mins (without opening the oven!) The top of the mixture should be set and a little bit cracked looking after half an hour.

Step 4

Take out of the oven and cool completely before cutting into scrumptious squares. Dust the tops with cocoa or icing sugar, if you like, or pop some chocolatey eggs on top for an egg-stra Eastery effect!

Step 5

Tuck in to your scrummy Easter Skinny brownies! There should even be enough to share 😉 These delish snacks will keep for up to four days…
